Product Description

Also available in a passive version, the ATC SCM20A SL Tower Active Speaker features a full SL spec bass driver with a 75mm integral soft dome.

Bass Reproduction

The speaker is powered by the ATC “Grounded Source” Bi-amplifier. The bass/mid is driven with 200 watts, while the tweeter has 50 watts of class “AB” power. Both amplifiers feature momentary gain reduction circuitry which both protects drive units and prevents unpleasant sounds from overdrive.

Reduced Distortion

Distortion in the moving coil drive units is greatly reduced thanks to the inclusion of ATC's unique SL technology in the magnet assembly. To minimise Time Domain Distortion both dome and cone are made from acoustically “dead” polyester wave material doped with ATC’s own formulation.

Wide & Even Dispersion

Also incorporated is a 9kg optimised motor assembly as well as an in-house, hand wound precision flat wire coil, active filters and overload protection. All this results in wide, even dispersion of audio for pin-point imaging.
