The Quadral Aurum Vulkan VIII is one of the latest floorstanding speakers from Quadral in their new Aurum range and it is phenomenal. Even though it operates at 250/400 watt resilience it has an amazingly fragile feel for the delicate tones, for the barely hinted nuances of soulful music. How effortlessly it converts its impulsive energy and dynamism into a musical fireworks display.

As with the Titan, the Vulkan has been implemented with the pressure-chamber/reflex design for the contoured basses that are deep, clear and punchy. Much like the woofers, the subwoofers use the tried and true, sound neutral and highly dynamic Altima membrane. With the awesome new high range ribbon tweeter the Vulkan can bring across every impulse with incredible speed.

As a hi-fi stereo speaker or as the main speaker in your high end surround sound system, it will perform magnificently - and it can smoothly do without the usually required subwoofer.
