Nordost Quasar Points are more effective than standard Pulsar Points, offering major improvements in sound and picture quality by effectively reducing resonance and vibration. Designed to offer better performance than standard Pulsar Points.

Each Quasar Point consists of an upward facing base cone with a recessed smooth hemispherical top. This is designed to house a ball bearing which provides isolation between both halves of the Quasar Point. The top piece uses a similar recessed hemispherical contoured design on the bottom of the cone, allowing this to mate with the ball bearing. This design provides superb isolation through the minimal contact made by the ball bearing to the two cones.

The top cone has a flat surface so equipment may sit directly on top of it. The cones are precision machined from military spec aluminum which has a very narrow resonance point and is superior to steel, brass, carbon fiber and other composites used in traditional cones and spikes. Each part is black anodized for a uniform smooth surface finish. The unique contra point and contoured support mechanism coupled with the isolation of a ball bearing lowers low-level mechanical noise to vanishing low levels.

Load of balls

Quasar Points are a set of 4 equipment supports with each foot consisting of a small cone sitting on a chrome ball in a larger cone. The equipment you put it under then wobbles about a bit. The fact that I now have 6 sets of them indicates that they have a positive effect on just about everything. I suppose the isolating qualities overide the movement(?).

I started with them under a Moon CD player then a Krell Amp. The sound cleaned up and calmed down! Then ordered 2 sets for my av room. When they arrived I thought I would try them under my Martin Logan speakers. They are still there as voices improved and further clarity.

So I had to get another 2 sets for the av stuff. Putting them under a Russ Andrews Sky Box and Pioneer LX83 amp improved the separation of the channels and did a clean up job.

Beware the addictive nature of Quasar points and their little balls.
