Focal Chorus 836VW SE is a UK special limited edition release of the standard Focal 836V speakers that feature Focal's W-cone technology from their higher range of speakers and a stunning gloss black finish not available on the standard model - in every way apart from cabinet shape, these have been improved over the standard 836V and they sound simply stunning. In a listening test with the Focal 1038Be speakers, these weren't that far off, which is saying something for a £2499 speaker!

W-Cone Drivers

In contrast to the standard cones used on the Focal 836V (which is itself is an impressive and class leading floorstander), the W-Cone technology featured in this special edition seduces by the richness of its upper midrange and the speed of its bass. Dynamics and definition are increased and as a result, this is an entirely refined and improved speaker.

With a total of 5 perfectly integrated drivers split over 3 woofers, 1 midrange and a dome tweeter, these speakers have no fear of filling (very) large spaces with a big sound! High-end in sound and shape and a dramatic improvement over the standard 836V, the power of the bass will surprise you, making them ideal for those that love a strong sound and/or have a large space to fill. 

For more than 15 years this composite cone sandwich technology has been a Focal-JMlab exclusivity. The "W" process provides now a true optimisation of the frequency response and the "W" cone produces an extremely transparent and neutral sound free from coloration and distortions normally associated with loudspeakers.
