CD Transports are designed to be used with a DAC (digital to analogue converter) and do not include one internally. As such, they feature only digital outputs and you can not connect them directly to an amplifier unless your amplifier has a digital input. They are designed to offer better sound quality with an appropriate DAC than a standard CD player, from the virtues of the fact that CD transport and DAC benefit from separate casings, power supplies and vibration control.
