Audioengine A2 active speaker system (in stock in WHITE only) duplicates the signature sound of the Audioengine A5 in a much smaller package, perfectly suited for your desktop and includes cables for connecting your iPod, PC or laptop. The Audioengine A2 is a great introduction to high-quality audio and the perfect upgrade for your computer or mp3 player.

The Audioengine A2 sets a new level of audio and aesthetic quality for Powered Multimedia Speakers and further closes the gap between computer speakers and home audio. Even if you're not an audio enthusiast, you will still hear a difference!

Brotherly Love

The Audioengine A2 is about one-third the size of the Audioengine A5 system. Audioengine used the same custom tweeters as the A5, matched them with newly designed compact Kevlar woofers and then added high-performance amplifiers with gold-plated speaker connectors. All this great engineering is wrapped in wood cabinets with a hand-polished finish to create a premium quality speaker system that puts those plastic computer speakers to shame!

Smaller Speakers, Big Bass

To say that the bass on Audioengine A2 is substantial for their size may be an understatement, but you should be the judge. The bass comes from some very clever acoustic and electrical design and without using any DSP or fake bass boost circuits. Wood remains a preferred speaker enclosure material for its stiffness at higher volume levels and the sealed cabinet focuses just the right amount of low end from the front ports.

Versatile and Efficient

The Audioengine A2 was designed for your desktop but is also perfect for smaller rooms. Well-suited for all types of music, movies, and videogames, the A2 sounds great with or without a subwoofer. Using a similar design as the A5, the Audioengine A2 features the amplifier and connections on the left speaker with a passive right speaker that connects to the left.

What can I plug into the A2?

As well as being compatible with iPod nano and and video, you can also connect other mp3/portable music players, external docks, LCD/Plasma screens, game consoles, DVD/Blu ray players, satellite receivers, CD players, PDAs and mobile phones, PCs and laptops and practically anything else which features an audio output! It even includes an auto-sleep standby circuit to conserve power so it's environmentally friendly too!

Easy Connections

The Audioengine A2 includes 3.5mm mini jack and RCA inputs and no software installs, plug-ins, or sound card upgrades are required to use them. Simply connect the audio output (or headphone jack) from your computer, iPod, Sonos system, PSP - or any other audio device into the Audioengine A2 rear panel and you're ready to enjoy! All the cables you may need are included.
