Perfectly adequate
by on 15/09/2012 16:18

The main reason for buying some bluetooth speakers was to listen to podcasts from my phone, for which these are perfectly adequate.

The What Hifi review is from 2007.

The power supply comes with adapters for UK, Euro and US.

Bluetooth pairing was as simple as holding the button to enter pairing mode, and waiting for the 'AE29-06' to appear on the phone. Upon entering the code of 8888, the phone and speakers were connected.

Both speakers detach from the main body, with around a metre of cable, allowing for fairly good stereo separation.

Connecting an FM radio via the jack gave a clear sound, with slightly wooly bass. MP3s via the jack gave a slightly weaker bass and thinner top-end, which is more likely down to the MP3 compression. MP3s via bluetooth, again less crisp top-end and weaker bass. There is plenty of volume, but you are not going to shake the house down, by any means.
